Journalism – social media – branded content – copywriting – translation – interpreting
I’m originally from London and moved to Paris for what was supposed to be six months – it’s now been almost 11 years. I didn’t stay for Paris’s charms nor for the art or even the food; I stayed because I hated it. I stayed because everyone loved it, was fascinated by it, and I was determined to feel at least a glimmer of pleasure at living in my mother’s birthplace.
I’m a freelance journalist and have contributed articles about travel, culture, food and design to several print and digital publications including The New York Times, Forbes, Wallpaper, BBC Travel, The Guardian, Eurostar’s Metropolitan Magazine, KLM’s inflight magazine the Holland Herald, and Yatzer. I am also the editor of the Paris print edition of the Luxos Magazine.
More recently, I worked at advertising agencies where I helped to launch and edit online beauty magazines for L’Oréal, and have worked at Sapient.Razorfish/Publicis with Lancôme in creating the cosmetics brand’s social media strategy. I have also done my fair share of copywriting and newsletter conception for various brands including Viva Technology, Maison Caulières, Lancôme, and Dom Perignon, as well as translation, subtitling and interpreting for documentaries, and for the womens’ luxury magazine Madame Figaro (Figaro media group). Currently, I am working with Vogue Paris where I am leading the French site’s translation into English.
Wherever I go and whatever I might be doing, I try to abide by the motto that the mind is like a parachute – it doesn’t work unless it’s open.
If you’d like to commission me to write an article or branded copy, to translate some heavy-duty French, or you’d just like to say hi, here’s how to reach me:
I look forward to being in touch!
