Journalism – social media – branded content – copywriting – translation – interpreting
I’m originally from London and moved to Paris for what was supposed to be six months – it’s now been almost 11 years. I didn’t stay for Paris’s charms nor for the art or even the food; I stayed because I hated it. I stayed because everyone loved it, was fascinated by it, and I was determined to feel at least a glimmer of pleasure at living in my mother’s birthplace.
And good has come of my decision to stay on. Not only have I found out a little more about what draws visitors to the city, but over the years I’ve also based my career here. A freelance journalist, I have contributed articles about travel, culture, food and design to several print and digital publications including The New York Times, Forbes, Wallpaper, BBC Travel, The Guardian, Eurostar’s Metropolitan Magazine, KLM’s inflight magazine the Holland Herald, and Yatzer.
I have also been the editor of an online travel magazine, as well as of a print luxury lifestyle magazine published in English and French for several years. More recently, I worked at advertising agencies where I helped to launch and edit online beauty magazines for L’Oréal, and have worked at Sapient.Razorfish/Publicis with Lancôme in creating the cosmetics brand’s social media strategy. I have also done my fair share of copywriting and newsletter conception for various brands including Viva Technology, Maison Caulières, Lancôme, and Dom Perignon, as well as translation, subtitling and interpreting for documentaries, and for the womens’ luxury magazine Madame Figaro (Figaro media group). I am now at Condé Nast France, where I worked at Vogue Paris leading the French site’s translation into English, and where my main focus is creating social media strategies for branded magazines as well as the group’s own brands.
If you’d like to commission me to write an article or branded copy, to translate some heavy-duty French, or you’d just like to say hi, here’s how to reach me:
I look forward to being in touch!
